Product Description

Circular stained glass window piece.

15” diameter

This piece is soldered within a sturdy circular hoop.  it has a portion of the design at the top, left “open”. This was intentional to accomodate the one of a kind glass used to depict water. That portion of the glass has a “rolled” edge which occurs when the glass is poured.  It adds dimension and and trully makes this one of a kind.

Color variations of blue, mauves, yellows and swirl white for fins.  The eye of fish is a glass jewel, that stands forward for dimension.

.Best to hang window pieces with small hook, (included) that screws into wood window frame. I will include fishline as well.  This is what I use to hang all my pieces. i will include instructions or you can go to link on artist page. If you prefer decorative chain, that would be up to you to purchase. I can answer any questions you might have regarding chain.

Stained Glass Artistry

Ann Miller – Stained Glass Artistry

The Art
My favorite part about creating stained glass pieces is the designing aspect. All of my designs are original, one of a kind pieces. This is a medium that is largely unforgiving, so planning for execution is very important.
In recent years, l have been doing a series of abstract designs. My goal is to have the linear parts along with the juxtaposition of various shapes, result in an overall exciting composition.
Often, l will combine glass bevels, unusual textured metal, or other types of natural or manmade objects as accents within the larger piece. I focus on the drama, yet simplicity of lines and shapes impacting space. Good design is all about editing. Color, texture, movement, coupled with the play of light, (both natural and artificial), are factored in to the finished piece.
My inspiration can come from nature, or just pure imagination. Sometimes it can be symbolically driven, or art history based. My approach to working with stained glass, is to offer a unique perspective beyond what is commonly seen in this medium.

The Artist
My stained glass pieces have been featured in Midwest galleries. I have participated in many juried exhibits, hosted artist events at my home gallery, as well as serving with arts organizations, committees, and other galleries.
It has been an honor to be chosen by: WI Economic Development Corp., to send 4 pieces to Japan’s Economic Conference, as gifts from Wisconsin. Two Wisconsin Agencies, Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality, and Gathering Waters Conservancy, presented several of my pieces to recipients for Leadership Awards.
Additionally some of my work has gone to homes in Sweden & France. I have a residential gallery in Oregon WI. On display there is a variety of work for purchase. Custom designed installations are also featured to enhance the unique architecture of the home.
